Tyler Moore

Meteorologist

Meteorologist Tyler Moore joined TMJ4 in December of 2023 after working in Tampa, Florida for almost two years. Tyler is a Milwaukee native growing up in Brookfield and graduating from Brookfield Central.

He played soccer at Brookfield Central, which took him to North Carolina to play in college at UNC Asheville. While in college Tyler got his degree in meteorology with a concentration in broadcasting. During that time, he also had internships at CNN in Atlanta and WKRN in Nashville. Tyler also did some undergraduate research with his professors. He hiked to remote rain gauge networks in the mountains of North Carolina to retrieve rainfall data, launched weather balloons during winter weather events and surveyed tree fall patterns after tornadoes in the Southeast.

But Tyler's passion for weather started at a much younger age. In fact, for as long as he can remember he has been obsessed with weather. Many of his elementary classmates and teachers still remember him being a weather nerd at a very young age.

While in Tampa, Tyler covered multiple tropical systems including Hurricane Ian and Nicole in 2022. Tyler is no stranger to early mornings, prior to WTSP-Tampa he worked as the morning meteorologist at KFSM in northwest Arkansas. There he covered several tornadoes that moved in from Oklahoma and Kansas during the overnight and early morning hours. But Tyler's first stop was back closer to home in Rhinelander where he worked as the morning meteorologist at WJFW where he covered his fair share of snowstorms. Tyler believes his journey has helped him become a well rounded meteorologist covering everything from winter storms to tornadoes and hurricanes.

Along with the weather Tyler loves everything outdoors from hiking and camping to fishing and golfing. You will often see his fiance, Justine, and dog, Zion, with him out on walks and hikes. And don't forget about sports! He has and always will support the Packers, Bucks and Brewers!

Tyler is so excited to be back home closer to family working at the TV station he grew up watching. Say hello, send a weather photo or ask a question to tyler.moore@tmj4.com!
