Meryl Hubbard was born and raised in San Diego, but she’s not new to the Midwest. She graduated from UW-Madison in 2024 and during her last two years in the city, she worked as a multimedia journalist covering everything from politics, breaking news, weather and features.
She gained experience covering both national-level and hyper local stories during her time in Madison. She reported live at both the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee and the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. She also reported live in the field on the day of the Abundant Life Christian School shooting in Madison, and did follow-up coverage on the aftermath of this tragedy in the community.
Meryl has a deep passion for telling stories that let humanity shine. Whether it’s through investigative, political or feature storytelling, she wants to highlight the human experience.
Meryl is excited to continue reporting in Wisconsin, a state she considers home.
