Mike Beiermeister

Mike Beiermeister joined TMJ4 in April of 2024 after working at WXOW in La Crosse for over four and a half years.

Mike is a Milwaukee area native. He grew up in Waukesha and went to Marquette University High School. His journey continued down Wisconsin Avenue where he attended Marquette University. Mike earned his degree in Digital Media in 2016. He was extremely active in student media. In 2016, he earned the Leadership Award from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for his work as Sports Director for MUTV.

Mike's broadcasting career started at WBKB-TV in Alpena, Michigan in 2017 where he was the 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. weeknight anchor. Mike also served as Assistant News Director and as a Multimedia Journalist during his time on the Sunrise Side. He enjoyed exploring the countless shipwrecks and lighthouses there, earning two Michigan Association of Broadcasters awards.

In 2019, Mike made his way back to Wisconsin. He started as the Weekend Anchor and as a Multimedia Journalist at WXOW in La Crosse. During his time in the Coulee Region, he tackled big issues like the impact of COVID-19 on local communities, PFAS contamination in the Town of Campbell, damaged roads throughout the area and what was being done about them, the stages of dementia and its toll on families, and the growing popularity of green burials . He also was lucky enough to capture veterans experiencing the memorials built in their honor through the Freedom Honor Flight. In 2021, he made the transition to Morning Anchor for WXOW's Daybreak program. Mike was awarded several Wisconsin Broadcasters Association awards for his work in the field and on the desk. He earned an Upper Midwest Emmy Award Nomination for Outstanding Light News Feature in 2023 for his story on a friendly 'Sasquatch' in Vernon County. In 2024, he achieved an award of merit from the Midwest Broadcast Journalist Association for his series 'Rough Roads.'

In his free time, Mike enjoys playing basketball, disc golf, going on walks, exploring new restaurants, listening to all types of music, watching Marquette Basketball, and cheering on his beloved Chelsea Football Club.
