Megan Lee joined the news team as a multimedia journalist in July of 2023.
She was born and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan, a suburb right outside of Detroit city limits. Megan earned a degree in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts at Central Michigan University. And she minored in Journalism. While at CMU, Megan gained extensive experience during her time at News Central 34, a CNN and CBS affiliate at Central Michigan University, a half hour nightly newscast, broadcasting in multiple counties in Michigan.
After graduation in May of 2021, she packed up her belongings and moved to Youngstown, OH. She worked at WKBN/WYTV, a CBS, Fox, and ABC affiliate. She wore many hats at her first job, starting as a multimedia journalist. After about three months in Youngstown, she became the evening weekend anchor on WKBN. While there, she covered many stories, including the East Palestine Train Derailment in February of 2023. She also covered various stories about the impacts on the residents, local businesses, and the overall health of those living there.
When she’s away from the station, she enjoys cooking, volunteering at various organizations, going for walks along Lake Michigan and traveling. She enjoys her trips down south to Charleston, South Carolina the most! She’s always looking for the best pizza spot or a great cup of coffee. Feel free to email her with recommendations. She is excited to explore Milwaukee and all that it has to offer.
