MILWAUKEE — We are making sure your hard-earned money stays in your pocket. Crooks have tried to steal from you by selling fake hand sanitizers or face masks. Now they want to spoil your family trip.

In this edition of The Rebound Milwaukee, we share the new scheme causing people to lose thousands.

Many people are falling victim to the Facebook Marketplace Scam. Scammers are lifting other ADs to snatch victims' money.

Jim Temmer with Better Business Bureau Serving Wisconsin says there is an active case they are investigating here in Wisconsin, where crooks are using fake addresses across Southeast Wisconsin to look legit.

“One of our big tips if you are going to buy something put it on a credit card or the very least a check because that can be traced don’t ever wire transfer money to somebody,” said Temmer who also warns about buying online, “Photos can be taken from any website and put up on a Facebook page. You can look up the actual price like the blue book value of a car or a boat.”
