MILWAUKEE -- Stadium seats at Miller Park may be empty right now, but loyal fan Mickey Manges said it’s never too soon to start rallying.
“Everybody's excited, from little kids to 70-year-olds —everybody’s thrilled about this,” Manges said.
Manges was just a toddler in 1982 when the team went to its first and only World Series Championship —and although the Brewers have a ways to go before that’s even a consideration, she said she’s hoping they can do it again.
"It’s a pretty big deal because of the group that’s doing it. It’s our boy Counsell. He’s a local guy," Manges said.
After two crucial rest days, the Brewers are back at Miller Park for the first time since beating the Cubs and winning the Central Division Title at Wrigley. Radio broadcaster for the Brewers, Lane Grindle, said he has no doubt the energy inside the stadium will be electric.
“Brewers fans they never fail to amaze me in terms of how loud they can get and how big of a presence they can make here at miller park and I think they’ll impact this game greatly," Grindle said.
Gates to the stadium open at 1:45 pm.
