City of Milwaukee Health Department takes applications for city health commissioner

MILWAUKEE — The City of Milwaukee Health Department is now taking applications for a new health commissioner.

The news comes after current health commissioner Jeanette Kowalik announced she was leaving the department to pursue a new career in Washington D.C.

According to a Facebook post from the department, "the City of Milwaukee is seeking an energetic, proactive public health leader to set the strategic direction of the Milwaukee Health Department (MHD) and to provide outcome-based, highly accountable leadership."

Applications for the position are due Thursday, Oct. 1, and should include a resume and cover letter.
