KENOSHA — Operations at the Kenosha Post Office are being temporarily relocated due to unrest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

USPS announced in a release Monday that retail service and delivery operations at the Kenosha Post Office, located at 5605 Sheridan Rd., are being relocated to the Pleasant Prairie Post Office, at 4225 101st St.

PO Box holders and customers in zip codes 53140,53142, 53143 and 53144 who have received an attempted delivery notice can pick up their mail at the Pleasant Prairie Post Office during retail hours.

Protesters gathered near the scene of a "domestic incident" at 40th and 28th streets Sunday evening. A man, identified by family as Jacob Blake, was shot several times in the back by a Kenosha police officer. Kenosha PD has not said what led up to the shooting.

Protesters marched from the scene to the Kenosha Police Department Sunday night. Fires were set to dump trucks blocking off the area and several businesses were damaged.

An emergency curfew was set for Sunday night until 7 a.m. Monday.

Monday's curfew is for everyone on the east side of I-94, the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department says.

Gov. Tony Evers has called in the Wisconsin National Guard to assist local authorities.
