MILWAUKEE -- With little notice, many are making due around the house to help create the best work from home environment.

TMJ4 News spoke to a gardening expert over sprucing up your new space.

Gardening expert Melinda Myers says getting near sunlight and your plants can ease your mind. That also includes flowers that are fake!

She says it can still boost your mood, "The color will really just improve your mood as well."

Myers added, "You’re elevating your mood but you're also lowering your blood pressure and right now, I think we could all use both of those things."

One of the plants she keeps in her office is an aloe vera. No matter what the plant you have at home, it is making a difference to your health.

"NASA did research with a landscape network and found that 18 plants in an 1,800 square foot house can clean a lot of volatile chemicals out of your air. Chemicals like furnishing, paint and carpeting," said Myers.

Plants aren't the only tool Myers has in her office to boost her mood. She also loves artwork.
