LAKE GENEVA — Lake Geneva aldermen voted not to institute a mask mandate Monday evening.

The mandate was shut down in a 5-4 vote with the Mayor making the deciding vote.
The vacation destination has been divided on masks. A petition in favor of a mask requirement garnered around 2,000 signatures. However, many opposed such a mandate.
The decision not to require people wear masks comes after Walworth County surpassed 1,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19. So far, 20 people have died in the county from the virus.
