MILWAUKEE — An email sent by DNC officials to convention volunteers said that the four-day event will go on as scheduled, for now.
"...we also remain focused on hosting a successful convention in July and highlights the incredible people, places, and other attributes that make Milwaukee such a special place to live and visit," the message said.
"The convention team's goal is to be as transparent, inclusive, and respectful of our host community as possible," the message added.
Around 50,000 people could be coming to the city from July 13-16. However, with a growing number of positive tests of coronavirus and Gov. Evers' indefinite ban on groups of 10 or more, the DNC could be in jeopardy.
Although, the DNC is still months away. Many of the large-scaled canceled events were scheduled for March, April, and May. That gives the DNC more time to make a decision on what will happen.
The email said that the convention will continue to evaluate the situation and make adjustments as needed.
