Sheboygan Police: Pedestrian killed after being hit by car

SHEBOYGAN — Sheboygan Police are investigating a fatal car accident involving a pedestrian.

The crash happened Monday about 11 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Taylor Drive just south of Erie Avenue.

According to police, a vehicle driving southbound struck a pedestrian who was walking in the southbound traffic lanes.

Sheboygan police officers and firefighter paramedics performed life-saving measures at the crash scene. The victim was transported to St. Nicholas Hospital but did not survive.

Police are withholding the identities of those involved while the investigation is being conducted and the family of the decedent located and proper notification is made.

The southbound lanes of Taylor Drive are closed Monday afternoon between Erie Avenue and Taylor Heights Frontage Road while the scene investigation is taking place. Southbound traffic is being rerouted onto eastbound Erie Avenue.

There may be witnesses who saw this crash but left before they were contacted by police. Anyone who witnessed this crash is asked to contact the Sheboygan Police Department at 920-459-3333.
