MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee man serving a life sentence for killing and dismembering Sade Robinson was ordered to pay $92,896.09 in restitution.

Maxwell Anderson was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole in July, a little over a year after Robinson was killed.

Anderson appeared via Zoom from an out-of-state prison for Thursday's hearing, where a judge ordered restitution of $36,583.71 for Sade's mother, Sheena Scarbrough, and $37,960.86 to the Victim Compensation Program for funeral/burial costs and lost wages. Resitition was also awarded in the amount of $775 to Sade's sister, Adrianna Reams, and $17,676.52 to Sade's father, Carlos Robinson.

Sheena Scarbrough, Robinson's mother, also appeared on Zoom during the hearing. It marked another difficult day for the family as court proceedings have stretched on for more than a year and a half.

Since Anderson is serving a life sentence without parole, any wages he earns in prison will go directly to Robinson's family.

This might not be the end of financial consequences for Anderson. Robinson's family has also filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Anderson. A motion hearing in that case will be held next month.

Anderson maintained his innocence throughout his trial, and at sentencing said, "I took this to trial without ever once trying to make a plea deal of any kind because I did not commit these crimes. And so I plan to appeal my convictions."

He made the first steps in the appeals process in August, filing a Notice of Intent to Pursue Post-Conviction Relief.
