Following the death of Froedtert nurse Carlie Beaudin last month, her family asked for one final way to honor her life.
Carlie's husband, Nick, knew how much she loved animals and asked for donations not to be sent to him or Carlie's family, but to the Wisconsin Humane Society.
Carlie and Nick adopted a dog, Baloo, together while they were married and lead to her love of WHS. Carlie was murdered in a Froedtert parking garage back in January by a former employee.
As of Thursday, WHS has received nearly $40,000 in donations. Nick still encourages donations to be sent in honor of Carlie.
