WAUWATOSA — A virtual hearing for the Wauwatosa police officer who fatally shot a teen in the Mayfair Mall parking lot will happen on Wednesday, July 15.
The Wauwatosa Police and Fire Commission will hold the hearing for Police Officer Joseph Mensah who killed 17-year-old Alvin Cole at the Mayfair Mall in February.
Mensah remains on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation. He was also the officer at the focal point of two other deadly officer-involved shootings in the past five years.
Dash camera videoshows the moments when the 17-year-old was shot and killed by Officer Mensah.
Police said Alvin fired a shot first as officers chased him. Seconds later an officer fired his gun five times, after demanding Alvin drop his gun more than once.
