U.S. News ranks top 10 Milwaukee area High Schools

Whitefish Bay takes top spot

The U.S. News & World Report released its annual rankings for the best High Schools in the United States. 

They reviewed 28,813 high schools in total, examining performance in reading, math, graduation rates and proportion of AP students, per the Milwaukee Business Journal.

Five Milwaukee area schools earned gold medal standard, while 83 Wisconsin schools earned silver medals. 

Whitefish Bay was the top high school in Wisconsin, ranking 249th in the United States.

  1. Whitefish Bay--National Rank 294, Graduation Rate 96 percent, College Readiness 66.9
  2. Eisenhower--National Rank 375, Graduation Rate 97 percent, College Readiness 63.1
  3. Cedarburg--National Rank 399, Graduation Rate 97 percent, College Readiness 62.1
  4. New Berlin--National Rank 440, Graduation Rate 97 percent, College Readiness 60.8
  5. Homestead--National Rank 483, Graduation Rate 98 percent, College Readiness 58.5
  6. Arrowhead--National Rank 507, Graduation Rate 99 percent, College Readiness 57.5
  7. Brookfield East--National Rank 566, Graduation Rate 96 percent, College Readiness 55.8
  8. King International--National Rank 638, Graduation Rate 87 percent, College Readiness 53.8
