The slick and snowy roads had people rethinking their New Year’s Eve plans Monday. In Ozaukee and Sheboygan Counties the snow came down hard and left a mess for drivers and police.

"We just came from Sheboygan and the roads are really bad," said Jerry Hilbelink who stopped for gas in Pymouth. "There are cars in the ditch."

He and others are now rethinking their New Year's Eve which did include a party with friends.

"We’re going home, we are going to stay put,” said Hilbelink.

Others decided to venture out in the storm for dinner but are ready to call it an early night.

"Go home, cuddle on the couch, simple night," said Lee Hayhurst from Adell.

A few people are enjoying all the white stuff and might head back out once the snow clears.

"It depends how much it snows, we might go meet some friends but that’s about it,” said Mason Arndt of Random Lake.

But if you are going out those who are just finishing their drive have some advice.

"Take your time on the roads, plan ahead and I would not be driving if I am drinking. It’s pretty scary out there," said Dave Bohnhoff of Plymouth.
