Slick road conditions may impact some peoples plans for New Years Eve.
Jeff Nelson manager of Auto Excellence in Racine said check your tire tread depth before you head out on the roads.
“If it’s bad enough and you don’t need to go out, don’t go out. Otherwise just take your time give yourself more room,” said Nelson.
Prince Boparai owner of United Driving School said there are a couple things to keep in mind when driving in dangerous conditions.
“Have your headlights on, increase the following distance and keep speeds down. Everybody has places to go so please take your time, said Boparai.
He said pay attention to bridges and overpasses as they tend to freeze first.
“When you’re heading out by a bridge tell yourself I’m not going to do any sudden movements,” said Boparai.
