NEW BERLIN — Two middle schoolers at New Berlin West brought BB guns to school on Dec. 4, a letter sent to parents by the school's principal said.

The school said that there is no safety threat, and the school was not put on lockdown either. The students did not bring them to school on Dec. 5 according to the letter.

School administration and school resource officers are investigating the situation.

New Berlin Police have also confirmed this information and are conducting an investigation as well. They are not looking for any other suspects.

Classmates of the student alerted school administration that the two middle schoolers may have BB guns with them at school. The letter touted the importance of "see something, say something."

This comes after a tense week in Wisconsin schools where two school shootings happened on back-to-back days in Waukesha and Oshkosh. There were also threats, of varying levels of credibility and severity, made at West Bend, Grafton, and Germantown this week.
