Local group Lake Park Friends is fighting for the future of Ravine Road after news that Milwaukee County is considering cutting off access to drivers.
"For more than a century, the winding Ravine Road has served as a pleasure drive, connecting residents across the East Side and from all neighborhoods of Milwaukee to Lake Park and the lakefront," said Lake Park Friends.
Now, the county is considering turning the road into a bike and/or pedestrian pathway, according to the petition site.
Lake Park Friends has come to a resolution of retaining the road for drivers with possible closures at times. Their goal is 2,500 signatures on the petition. Currently, over 1,600 people have signed.
