SHEBOYGAN — The newest arena in Wisconsin isn't for the Bucks, Brewers, or Packers. It's for gamers.

"This is Wisconsin's largest privately owned but open to the public gaming facility or gaming arena," Justin Webb, the owner of Game On in Sheboygan, said.

Game On is heaven for video game enthusiasts. There are over 30 different consoles to play on like Xbox, Super Nintendo, Switch, and virtual reality stations. What's more, there are 24 high-tech gaming computers.

While the venue is open to the public to come in and play, Webb hopes to host some of the top gamers in Wisconsin and the country.

"This is where we are going to host e-sports tournaments," Webb said. "They’ll either be money or prize tournaments just like you’d see in the Fortnite tournaments or world championship tournaments."

E-sports continues to grow in popularity and doesn't show any signs of stopping soon. In fact, the winner of the Fortnite World Cup won $16 million. He's 16. Now, Webb hopes to get in on some of the action by hosting tournaments as well as offering gamers of all levels a place to come and compete.

"So regardless of age, regardless of gender, regardless of ethnicity, and regardless of social abilities, they can come here and compete just like anyone else," he said.

It costs $7.00 for the first hour and $5.00 for each hour afterward. Monthly and yearly passes are also available. It's $299 for the year.

A parent of gamers himself, Webb hopes his space opens up parents to the benefits of gaming.

"A lot of the times parents don’t even understand how strategic gaming truly is and a lot of the strategy they use inside of gaming is applicable across all of the business spectrum."

Parents can come and watch their kids play, and if they feel so inclined, they can game themselves. Parents play free on older systems like Super Nintendo and Atari consoles.

Game On will have its grand opening on January 1st. Reservations to play are open now.
