STURTEVANT — Gift giving is tough. Buying a present for a White Elephant exchange can either be the icing on the cake of stressful holiday shopping or you might actually be a fan of goofy gift giving.

Whether you are in pro- or con White Elephant, there is a Goodwill store doing things a little differently that would make your holiday shopping way more fun.

Introducing the Goodwill Outlet in Sturtevent.

"Everything is a $1.39 a pound, and if you spend 25 pounds or more it drops down to 99 cents per pound," Cathy Gister, the store manager, said.

"The outlet opened up as a last chance opportunity for customers to buy items not sold in traditional retail stores

The Outlet works on a pay-by-weight system. The more you buy, the cheaper it gets, sort of. The deals get a bit better.

It opened July 2018 as a place for customers to have one more chance to buy the items that didn't sell in retail stores.

It takes a little more searching but the find are worth every minute. A few of the things TODAY'S TMJ4 reporter James Groh found were: a D-I-Y ice cream maker, six vintage board games, a typewriter, a digital camera, and so much more.

There are 158 bins on the floor at any moment and those get periodically replaced with new inventory throughout the day.

Going to the Goodwill Outlet, or any second-hand store, makes White Elephants/gift giving/shopping more fun and easy. There are unique and different items that take the pressure of getting that one thing someone really wants.

(We're not saying don't get that person what they asked for, but second-hand stores add a fun curve-ball that anyone can appreciate.)
