The Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office has called off a search for a Green Bay man early Monday morning.
The sheriff's office originally said the man led deputies on a high speed chase in Ozaukee County, ditching the car he was driving in the Oostburg area. However, upon further investigation the sheriff's office says the vehicle was involved in a traffic stop but was not pursued.
Authorities located heroin inside the man's vehicle after he fled. They also have reason to believe he has knocked on a number of doors and kicked in a garage door in order to stay hidden.
The sheriff's office has since called off the search for the man, saying they are instead investigating damage to properties only. They say they believe the traffic stop and the kicked in garage are connected, but more investigation is needed.
