A Madison man was arrested after making up a story to police that he had been stabbed, our sister station WISC-TVreports.
According to police, the 20-year-old called Madison officials multiple times around 2:40 a.m. to report that he could not find his car.
Since police did not respond, he called later to report that someone had attempted to stab him.
When officers arrived, the suspect told officers he had made up the story in order to get them to respond faster.
The man, who had no identification, was arrested for misusing emergency services and was transported to jail. An investigation is ongoing.
