WAUWATOSA — Word of a winter storm coming had people stocking up. The grocery stores have been busy all day.
The bread, cheese, and canned food aisles were looking very picked over at Metcalfe’s in Wauwatosa.
“It’s half empty. People are shopping people got the same thing in mind that we do,” said Paul Carter from Milwaukee.
People are not just out buying food Friday night. Joseph Stawicki from West Allis decided to get a second snowblower.
"My other one is a big Kahuna that is too heavy to move it around. So I got the smaller one," said Stawicki.
At Woodman’s in Menomonee Falls every register was ringing, but people were still stuck in long lines. Very long line.
“An hour In line to check out," said Jim Hubbell
He was there to pick up essential and salt.
"I need two bags of salt," said Hubbell.
"Just getting a little ice melt here," said Chuck Jones from Glendale.
So they are ready to ride out whatever Mother Nature brings.
"We are from Wisconsin we know how to handle it. It doesn’t mean we want to go out of our way to handle it," said Brian Barney from Germantown.
