Bayside, Wis - They say soup is the song of the hearth and the home, and if that’s true, the Stein household in Bayside is loudly singing away the polar vortex blues.

“If no one’s at work, then this is what we should be doing,” Levi Stein said.

Levi and his family are serving up hot soup with matzo balls to Friendship Circle participants --a division of Lubavitch of Wisconsin, a group working to support people with special needs --and anyone else who could use a cup and some company while hibernating from the cold.

“[This is meant] just to be a friendly visit after all these cancellations I think is so important because isolation is the worst,” Stein said.

So, Stein is bundling up to brave the brunt of this Wisconsin winter, traveling across town with a couple of volunteers by his side, and delivering delicious soup with a smile to the doorstep of dozens of people.
