WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A Village of Kewaskum resident had her car stolen from her driveway early Saturday morning.

The woman told police she was warming up her car prior to work when a 17-year-old Milwaukee teen got in and drove off.

Police observed the stolen vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 45 in the area of Friendly.

The vehicle was traveling in excess of 100 mph, swerving back and forth between lanes. The driver lost control, crashed into the median and started heading eastbound.

Deputies followed the vehicle until the operator stopped on its own. The teen was taken into custody without incident.

Nobody was injured in the pursuit or arrest.

The teen is not believed to have acted alone and the incident is still under investigation.
