MILWAUKEE (WTMJ) — Six people were injured from a series of shootings in Milwaukee on Saturday, including a 1-year-old and a teenager, according to Milwaukee police.
With gun violence continuing to affect the city, violence prevention advocates and victims are having real conversations about how to address the issue.

Monte Mabra leads the "I Will Not Die to Gun Violence" LaTroy Harris initiative, named after his brother who was killed in 2025.
Mabra brings together victims, victimizers and families to build emotional awareness and conflict resolution. The program uses immersive, real-world exercises to build those skills.
"There's another solution," Mabra said. "We put ourselves in real-life situations. We write stories. We act out the stories. It's like tactical training, not to use a gun."
At a mock funeral Sunday, TMJ4 met Kamid Everett, a mother who lost her 14-year-old son, Bryant, to gun violence in 2024.
"I remember him and I honor him every day. I wake up and I say his name, and I just want the world to know that his name is Bryant. He didn't get a chance to go to prom," Everett said.
Everett said finding community helped her through her grief.
"I was mad in the beginning, but I'm humbling and going to my grief groups and being around, you know, positive people and taking this class. It's just teaching me to really forgive," Everett said. "It's a hard process. So I do — I pray for all of my angel moms. I'm praying for our city because our kids are not making it."
Saturday's four shootings left six people injured, including a 1-year-old. Police say that shooting stemmed from a road rage altercation. It is the second road rage shooting TMJ4 has reported this week. Last Tuesday, a 44-year-old woman was killed while driving her car.
"It's troubling. But that's what's going on now. It's easy to get access to a gun," Mabra said.
Mabra urges people who feel stuck to talk things through and slow down.
For Dejohntay Douglas, who previously had run-ins with the law, the community has helped him think before acting.
"I just like to hear other people's stories. So it just got me to open up and calm down and just let you know that you're with family and not strangers," Douglas said.
