The classic yellow letters went up on the enclosed, blue building earlier this week. Blue and yellow represent the Swedish heritage of the company.
Construction appears to be on schedule for the grand opening in the summer of 2018. The store sits on a 30-acre plot of land on I-94 north of Drexel Avenue. The road connecting the store to Drexel Avenue was officially named IKEA Way.
This will be the Swedish retailer's first Wisconsin store. IKEA is expected to benefit the economy by creating jobs and also drawing in shoppers from across the state. Shoppers will travel from surrounding cities to experience the furniture-giant.
