MENOMONEE FALLS — A fatal car crash led to major backups along I-41 in Menomonee Falls Friday evening, and police there conclude it started when the vehicle struck a median wall and rolled over onto its roof.
The Village of Menomonee Falls police said in a statement that authorities responded to a crash just before 7 p.m. on the interstate at County Line Road.
There they discovered that a single-vehicle driving south struck the median and rolled over.
The driver of that vehicle, a 49-year-old Milwaukee man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. Southbound lanes remained closed as of 10 p.m. Friday pending an on-scene investigation.
