The girlfriend of the man who died in a construction accident at the Amazon site in Oak Creek on Wednesday says he was a “goofy, loving guy.”

Zachary Dassow, 24, of Kansasville, Wisconsin, was killed when the construction equipment he was driving fell from a fourth-floor window to the ground.

Dakota Daniels and Dassow were expecting their first child. Now she is relying on friends and family to get her through this tough time. “I appreciate the outpouring of love that me and my family have been receiving, and him and the baby, but nothing is going to make up for him not being here,” said Daniels.

Daniels said Dassow had been working at the construction site for a only few months but enjoyed his job. He also knew of the potential dangers facing him every day. “He grew up around it, so he knew anything construction was scary and dangerous,” she said.

Family and friends have set up memorial funds to help Dakota and the baby. A Facebook site can be found here. Donations can also be made at any Educators Credit Union with the account name: Dakota and Presley Memorial Fund.
