Civilian member of Milwaukee police tests positive for coronavirus

MILWAUKEE — A civilian member with Milwaukee police has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the department.

The employee's job, according to Milwaukee police, does not have any direct contact with the general public, so there is no reason to believe the public was placed at risk.

The employee is currently self-quarantining and people within this person's work location are being monitored.

The Milwaukee Police Department is asking the public to avoid visiting district locations unless necessary.
