WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. -- Questions are looming after authorities say Friday's fatal car crash on I-94 in Racine County is linked to a homicide in Winnebago County, Illinois.

The Racine County Sheriff's Office says the car involved in the crash is registered to 24-year-old Destiny Tolodxi.

Authorities say Tolodxi was found dead in a home in Winnebago County, Illinois on Friday around 5 p.m. Investigators say her death is a homicide investigation.

Authorities aren't saying much about this case just yet but people who live in close by say this murder is disturbing.

"Very sorry to hear that something like this happened," said Jack Dougherty, a neighbor. "It is very heartbreaking."

"Very scary to think something like that could happen in this neighborhood, it's too quiet we're not used to that kind of stuff," said Treasure Austin, another neighbor.

Whoever was behind the wheel died. Witnesses say a tire came off the car, causing it to swerve into an excavator.

As investigators continue to search for answers there is an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday to determine who the driver was involved in the crash. Until then neighbors send their condolences to the victim's family.

"I have prayers for them," said Austin.
