The 37-year-old man shot in an incident in Waukesha County Wednesday evening has died from his injuries, the sheriff department said Thursday.
The man, identified as Scott Kontowicz, was shot by Waukesha County deputies after he was standing outside of his home, covered in gasoline and holding a rifle. The Waukesha County Sheriff Department said he was suicidal.
He was taken to the hospital, but Kontowicz died from his injuries at the hospital.
"The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department would like to send our condolences to the family of Mr.Kontowicz," said the sheriff department. "Our thoughts and prayers are also with the Deputies that were involved."
The Waukesha Police Department is investigating the shooting. No other details were released.
