MILWAUKEE — The death of a 1-year-old child is being investigated as a homicide.
The Milwaukee Police Department said that an autopsy was being performed on 1-year-old Alonzo M. Lamar, whose death had initially been determined as "suspicious."

Lamar was also called A.J. for short.
A.J.’s mother told TODAY’S TMJ4 she rushed home when she heard about her son. When she made it, he was already gone.
She said she noticed bruising on his body and face.
“It’s sad to hear that,” said Mark Grant, a neighbor. “Not just on the block of anywhere in the City of Milwaukee. It’s really sad to hear.”
Authorities confirm that paramedic units were dispatched to the 4300 Block of 25th Street for reports of an unconscious child.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner was called to the scene to investigate a death shortly after.
If the death is officially ruled a homicide, this would be the first homicide in Milwaukee of 2020.
The family has set up a GoFundMe account to help deal with funeral expenses.
