MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee's YMCA branches have announced their phase one reopening plan, which takes effect June 1.
With phase one of the reopening, YMCA services will be limited. Each branch will offer different classes and services, but they will be open for kids and teens.

The Rite-Hite YMCA, located on N. Green Bay Road in Milwaukee, will be open June 1 with limited fitness classes. Common areas like locker rooms, pools, saunas, and children's areas will all be closed.
The downtown YMCA is prepped and ready to open as soon as city ordinance restrictions are lifted.
Some children's programs will also resume next month, however that won't be until June 15. These programs include:
- Northwest YMCA
- Rite-Hite YMCA
- Mequon at Sonlight
- Wilson Park in South Milwaukee
- Camp Minikani summer camp in Hubertus
- Additional sites are in discussion
Northside Early Childhood Education Program Center will also open next month on June 8.
These programs are designed for children between the ages of 3 and 18. Full details and registration for each camp are available here.
Many safety precautions have been put in place to protect visitors and staff. These precautions include social distancing, hand sanitizing stations, health screenings, personal protective equipment, disinfecting machines, and things like door handles and furniture have been removed from the facilities.
