WAUKESHA — The Waukesha School District has two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the district.

Students in the Waukesha School District start school on Tuesday.

Joe Koch, the deputy superintendent for the district, told TMJ4 News, "Yesterday, [the] administration was informed that we had confirmed COVID cases at Butler and Lowell and an unconfirmed case at Heyer. Additionally, there have been individuals identified as close contacts."

Koch stated that the district has been dealing with positive cases since March. However, with school starting, they are now going to notify the school community of new cases and which classes and schools those cases affect.

Koch also said he expects new cases to be a regular occurrence with school starting Tuesday. However, he said the district "will work closely with the Waukesha County Health Department to address COVID in our schools."
