MADISON — Two student-athletes at UW-Madison have tested positive for the Coronavirus, the school said in a statement and reported by Sports Illustrated.

This was part of an initial screening by the school of 117 student-athletes who returned to campus to begin preseason workouts.

The University said student-athletes could return to campus starting on June 8 and testing would begin with the football and volleyball teams. Other sports will return to campus as the summer progresses. Voluntary workouts will continue in a phased approach as it gets closer to the start of the season.

Neither the names nor the sports the athletes play have been released. The University said it will share testing results periodically.
