Put on your puppy dog eyes, Petfest 2020 has been canceled due to the coronavirus.

The festival for furry friends and humans was scheduled to take place on Summerfest grounds on Sept. 26.

“After many weeks of careful thought and consideration we have decided to cancel the 2020 Petfest date,” said Jim Glassford, Fromm Family Foods marketing director. “This was not an easy decision; however, with health and safety the utmost priority, we feel it is the most responsible option for our staff, volunteers, partners and festival attendees.”

Petfest has opened the Henry Maier Festival grounds to pet owners and their fur babies for the past six years. The festival raises thousands of dollars to support pet-related nonprofits in Wisconsin every year.

Petfest will return in 2021 on Sept. 25 with all the same favorites such as dock diving, agility and lure courses, live acts and entertainment.
