A new health order released in Dane County is prohibiting indoor gatherings of any size.

Order #10 from the Public Health Madison & Dane County says indoor gatherings will be prohibited under the new order and outdoor gatherings will be limited to 10 people or less with physical distancing.

“We ask that everyone exercise good judgment and follow the orders. The intention of the order is not to penalize businesses or individuals, but to keep everyone safe during this pandemic,” said Public Health Madison & Dane County Director Janel Heinrich.

The new order goes into effect on Nov. 18 at 12:01 a.m. and will end on Dec. 16 at 12:01 a.m.

The order continues to require face coverings and limit business capacities to 50 percent.

The department warns that anyone who violates the order could see "significant penalties."
