TWIN LAKES — During these times, even golf courses are looking to stay safe.

“We don’t have enough golf carts and we looked to make a partition,” Twin Lakes Country Club Chad Cantwell says.

Now partitions are possible since the introduction of the Safe Wedge, made by Five Star Fabricating of Twin Lakes.

“Our shipment is going out today to Chattanooga, Tennessee, The Black Creek Club. We sold some in northern Wisconsin and of course, our local course. Twin Lakes Country Club,” Garrett Schultz, VP of Five Star Fabricating says.

“It provides a barrier while you’re riding together,” Cantwell says.

And it’s perfect for cart partners you don’t like.

“It even blocks cigar smoke,” Cantwell says.

And practical for those at higher risk like 80-year-old Joe Beyer.

“You’ve got separation. I think it’s perfect,” Twin Lakes Country Club member and worker Beyer says.

Five Star is ready to help make the game as safe as possible.

“As of a couple weeks ago, we were going to simply cancel that outing. But with this product. We’ll have enough carts and the golf outing is back on for June,” Schultz says.
