WISCONSIN — Because of the coronavirus outbreak, Dollar General is dedicating their first hour of operation every day to seniors.

Senior citizens are among the most susceptible to the coronavirus, and because of this, they are getting their own window of time to shop at Dollar General.

Dollar General is asking that shoppers base their shopping around this window of time so susceptible shoppers can shop in a safe environment.

“In keeping with our mission and our ongoing commitment to serve our communities, we are dedicating the first hour of each day to seniors. We appreciate our customers’ understanding of our decision and request they visit our stores later in the morning to allow at-risk populations the ability to purchase the items they need at affordable prices,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s CEO.

On top of that, Dollar General will also be closing all of their stores an hour earlier every day in order to clean and restock shelves.

The stores will continue to open at the same time, just closing times will change.
