MILWAUKEE — Discovery World announced it has laid off 55 employees because of the coronavirus.
The museum said that it had to make those staffing changes to keep museum operations going.

In addition to the layoffs, the remaining employees are taking a 3 to 10 percent pay cut depending on their salary.
“For the past several months we have experienced the loss of revenue streams from admissions, membership, gift shop, parking, and events,” Bryan Wunar, Discovery World CEO and President said. “We have worked to reduce our expenses, while trying to retain our staff for as long as possible. In order to preserve finances and ensure we remain a viable organization, we have had to make decisions that will guide Discovery World’s future so we can safely and respectfully return to serving our community.”
