RACINE — The City of Racine passed a mandate requiring everyone to wear masks beginning on July 27.

People would have to have a mask on anytime they are in public - inside or outside. Racine Police will enforce the mandate. You could be fined $25 for a first offense and $50 for a second offense if you aren't wearing your mask.

Businesses that don't enforce the fine could face anywhere from a $50 to $500 fine.

The mandate will last until 2021, but the common council has the ability to review it in October.
