WISCONSIN — As of Friday morning, 49 percent of all Wisconsin COVID-19 patients have recovered, according to the Department of Health Services.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has taken all of their COVID-19 data and broken it down various ways. One of those ways is based on recovery status.

Of the 6,853 documented cases with DHS, 3,352 of them have recovered. In order to get these numbers, DHS looked at the number of confirmed cases who are still alive based on Wisconsin state vital records system data and had one or more of the following:

  • Documentation of resolved symptoms
  • Documentation of release from public health isolation
  • 30 days since symptom onset or diagnosis

Even with to the patients who have recovered, there are still 3,185 people still recovering and 316 people have died.
