BAYSIDE -- There is a special organization asking for your friendship.
Dr. Orlee Hauser and her daughter Dina with Friendship Circle of Wisconsin joined us live on Daybreak Sunday morning to promote the third annual Walk4Friendship to benefit the non-profit that provides friendship to someone with special needs.
Hauser's two children live with autism. She shared how the organization positively impacted her childrens' lives.
Friendship Circle began with a simple idea -- be a friend to someone who has special needs and give respite to the family. Friendship Circle has been providing assistance and support for more than 1,600 individuals with special needs since 2004.
The Wisconsin chapter has expanded their outreach with a Friendship Bakery which connects culinary mentors with adults who live with special needs. They make anything from cookies to wedding cakes.
You are invited to help make a difference by walking just one mile Aug. 25 in the Walk4Friendship event.
TODAY'S TMJ4 Anchor/Reporter Julia Fello is proud to emcee this worthy event for a third year in a row.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. at Ellsworth Park in Bayside. The walk will begin at 11 a.m. Click here register for the event.
