MILWAUKEE — Day 1 of Summerfest 2019 was a great one, especially for die-hard fans.
The self-proclaimed "Summerfest Queen" was on the grounds for Day 1 but is really looking forward to a big act next week. "Yeah, I am going to see J-Lo, I'm so excited!" said Diane Larsen. Larsen has been to all but one year of Summerfest.
There were a lot of Summerfest Super Fans at Opening Day. West Allis resident Jerry Bunker has been coming for 51 years. He has a deep love for music and comes every year. "It's great. Good variety," said Bunker.
Summerfest officials say the weather was a big sell Wednesday. It was the nicest in recent memory, according to management at the festival.
Summerfest runs 11 days.
