Rain to taper off, beautiful Thursday in store

and last updated 2020-07-15 21:00:46-04

We avoided the severe weather this afternoon, but not the heavy rain with most areas getting at least 1" and some areas 2-3" of rain.

There were reports of urban street flooding in Milwaukee from the downpours. The rain will taper off before 11 p.m. and we stay cloudy overnight with lows in the 60s.

Thursday is a very nice day with sunshine, lower humidity, and highs near 80. Enjoy that because the weekend is a scorcher.

The wind shifts to the SW on Friday and we warm up to 87 under the sun and the high humidity is back. Saturday has an isolated chance for pop up t'storms with highs in the lower 90s and dew points in the low to mid 70s. It will be uncomfortable with a heat index near 100.

Sunday has a scattered chance for afternoon t'storms and a high near 90. The dew points stay steamy putting the heat index in the upper 90s. Things get better for Monday with a high in the lower 80s and less humidity.
