Rain ending overnight; seasonal for Tuesday

and last updated 2020-03-09 23:46:08-04

After a beautiful weekend we are seeing spring showers that will stay persistent through the evening hours, ending after midnight tonight. After 1/2 of an inch to an inch of total rain has fallen, temperatures will drop to 33 degrees in Milwaukee with breezy winds.

Tuesday starts with clouds but they will clear out by the afternoon hours allowing temperatures to climb to 44 degrees, cooler but still seasonably mild for early March, especially with a lighter wind. A quick storm system moves in late Tuesday night and into early Wednesday to bring a slushy wet snow which will transition to rain by late morning as temperatures climb into the low 40s. A drier afternoon is expected with the sun trying to work through the clouds by the end of the day. Thursday is just the opposite with a dry start, increasing clouds and temperatures climbing to 50 degrees before scattered showers develop for the afternoon and evening hours with a weak cold front sweeping through. Friday gets breezy again with partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures a touch cooler: in the low 40s. A storm system looks to pass to our south over the weekend but that will give us clouds and a few flurries and sprinkles, especially the farther south you are with highs close to 40 degrees.
