Hot, muggy conditions continue for the rest of the week

and last updated 2020-07-08 19:08:38-04

We got a break from the afternoon downpours for a day, but the heat and humidity continued with highs near 90. This evening will be rain-free, but temps will still be in the lower 80s by 9pm.

By morning we are sunny and muggy with temps in the mid 70s, and high temps will be near before t'storms start to develop in the early afternoon.

We are under a slight risk for severe storms Thursday afternoon and evening. The primetime for storms looks to be 4-8pm and then rain showers are likely until early Friday morning. Most of us will pick up about 1" of rain, but if get under a downpour, there could be spots that get 2" of rain.

After some lingering showers early Friday morning, the rest of the day enjoys sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 80s with a NW wind at 10-15 mph.

That NW wind will help bring in SOME relief for the weekend with dew points dropping into the low 60s and high temps in the low to mid 80s. It is still warm and a little humid, but it will feel better than this week.

There is also a very slight chance for a pop up afternoon shower both days.
